The Union County Board of Education is accepting applications for the position of Family Resource Center Coordinator.  This person will be working with students and families of students at Sturgis Elementary and Uniontown Elementary Schools.  This position is normally 230 to 240 days per fiscal year.  Only electronic applications will be accepted online at www.union.kyschools.us. 

 

Qualifications

The Family Resource Center Coordinator must have, as a minimum, a B.S. or B. A.

degree in a human service related field such as social work, psychology, or education.

Knowledge of basic computer skills helpful. Experience in working with adolescents,

families, and community agencies is desired.

 

Terms of Position

The coordinator will be employed for 230 to 240 days for 8 hours per day. Term will be for the Family Resource Center fiscal year.  The term will include seven holidays per year.  All benefits and provisions for classified employees will pertain to this position.

 

Reports to

The Family Resource Center Coordinator will report directly to the school principals of site where working. The coordinator will be under the auspices of the Public Relations Coordinator.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The coordinator will be responsible for serving all students and their families within Sturgis Elementary School and Uniontown Elementary School. The coordinator shall:

  1. Actively recruit students and families to participate in Family Resource Center       activities and services.
  2. Ensure adherence to parental consent and confidentiality procedures for Center services.
  3. Coordinate training of Center staff, Advisory Council members, and school faculty and staff regarding Center services.
  4. Participate in Advisory Council meetings on a regular basis.
  5. Ensure that all program components are implemented.
  6. Develop and implement information dissemination procedures on Center services.
  7. Collaborate with community agencies for provision of direct services offered through the Center.
  8. Ensure that interagency agreements are finalized.
  9. Conduct ongoing program evaluation activities for all components according to Cabinet for Human Resources guidelines.
  10. Assist community agencies in the development and maintenance of program evaluation activities.
  11. Assist students and families with referrals to appropriate community resources.
  12. Conduct needs assessments for additional program planning.
  13. Be responsible for recruitment of Center volunteer staff.
  14. Provide supervision for all student and family programs sponsored by the Center and held during non-school hours. Be responsible for Family Resource Center budget.
  15. Participate in state level training for Youth Services Centers.
  16. Complete and submit reports to the Advisory Council, School Based Decision Making Council at Union County High School, Board of Education, and Cabinet for Human Resources.
  17. Conduct home visits as needed.
  18. Perform any other duties as determined appropriate by school principals, Advisory Council, or District Supervisor.
